The Dickinson College Farm
I discovered my love for organic farming and the farm-to-table process through my time working at the Dickinson's organic farm, located in Boiling Springs, PA. I worked as a student farmer during the summer and fall of 2019, and joined the team again in 2021 at the Sustainable Earth Educator (SEED).
Student Farmer
As a student farmer, I applied ideals of sustainability in planting, growing, and harvesting organic produce. I also gained skills in resilience and problem-solving, as the team and I spend hours on end engaging in manual---but meaningful---labor.

Every Wednesday during Summer of 2019 I worked the Dickinson College Farm stand at the Farmers on the Square farmers market. There, I worked with my colleagues to sell produce from the farm as well as bake fresh, yummy farm pizza.

Through the role of Sustainable Earth Educator, I had the opportunity to marry my love for teaching and organic farming. I created farm-based outdoor education lesson plans, and with the help of my volunteers conducted field trips for schools in the Cumberland County area.

Art History
A Surprising Connection
My Freshman Spring at Dickinson, I took Art History 102 in order to satisfy a graduation requirement. I was taken aback by my interest in the material, and even decided to pursue a minor in Art and Art History. I love how a viewer can deduce so much about a time period just from looking at a piece. I am also fascinated by the meaning and purpose of art and how artists have challenged these conceptions over time. Art History is featured both on this "Passions" page and my "Education" page. This subject is more than academic for me as it changed the way I view the world around me. Going to art museums and collecting art has become a hobby of mine.
Art History courses I have taken at Dickinson:

Art History 101: Beginning of time to Renaissance
Art History 102: Renaissance to current day
Art History 204: American Art
Art History 206: Museum Studies
Art History 216: Goddesses, Wives, Prostitutes, and Saints
Art History 219: Gender and Sexuality in Modern American Art
Art History 314: Contemporary Art

By far, my favorite course was Art History 204: American Art. Read one of my best essays
